This morning Barons reported that Apple would unveil their much anticipated tablet computer in September and that the unit would be available some time in November. An unnamed analyst who had some “hands on” time with a prototype says that the 10 inch jumbo iphone, will retail for between $699 and $799 and will be both an Apple tv viewer and a gaming machine. Nobody is really sure whether the Apple’s online stores will be the sole means of distributing content but one thing is certain, everybody is awfully interested in getting their paws on the next big thing from Apple.
Apparently anticipation for the unveiling of the final product that competitors have stopped producing components for their products until they get a gander at the final, Steve Jobs blessed version of the tablet. While I doubt that anybody is surprised that this impending announcement appears to be right around the corner, it sure is exciting. I’ve always said that a sub $1000 tablet from Apple will be the beginning of the end for Windows and it appears that I’m one small step closer to finding out if I’m right.

Ha ha, this reminds me of the failed apple project Newton, boy was that a failure
I’m interested to see how this turns out.
It looks like it’ll be a wiser purchase than the MacBook Air…
There is no rumors that Apple is going going to attempt handwriting recognition again. $699 is a price that only the Apple fanboys can love. Why would anybody spend $699 for a down scaled tablet when they can get full laptop even if it runs Windows?
