batmanarkhamasylum2 300x168 Batman:Arkham Asylums Release Date Pushed Back
In what I would have to day is a much bigger disappointment than it is a surprise, the rumor that has been circulating the web this week was made official today. Batman: Arkham Asylum won’t be hitting stores as soon as we were promised. Eidos and Warner Brothers Interactive confirmed what we had already suspected for a while, Arkham Asylum won’t be out until the end of the summer. In what all game companies do, they issued the usual bullshit about how great it is for gamers that the game is being delayed.

“This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.”

Thanks guys, we really appreciate us looking out for us. I think that I would like to issue the following press release to anybody producing games:

Producing a game that is of the highest quality is the minimum requirement that gamers expect. If you are going to be late in delivering that I will be disappointed but will ultimately accept that it is what’s best. However, when you try and convince me that you are doing me a favor by delaying the games I am looking forward to it drives me mental and makes me think you are stupid. I will still buy the game, I will still play the hell out of it if it’s good, just please don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining, I’m in a bad enough mood as it is.

I’m sick to death of video game companies sounding like politicians, just own up to your mistakes and move on. It’s not a big deal, but playing spin doctor makes it worse not better. Had they not done that I would have continued to hype the game with a great trailer I found that you might not have seen. However, saying as that my means for punishing the game companies for not being straight up with us, withholding their trailer is really the only move I have. So instead I bring you….. nothing.
