bioshock 06 New Bioshock Movie News
Variety is reporting that Gore Verbinski has told Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer that he’s had enough of the pirates life. Verbinski made, what most of had already assumed, official. He won’t be back behind the camera for the fourth installment of the The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Even though the movie hasn’t been given the thumbs up, Johnny Depp has committed to reprising the role of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Despite the fact that there’s nothing that makes me happier than an angry pirate, this isn’t really all that important to me. What is important is that Verbinski said no to Pirates IV because he wanted to devote his time to other projects. Most noticeably Bioshock; this is awesome. Anything that gets Bioshock fast tracked to theaters is great news to me. I’m also totally bought in to the idea that Gore Verbinsky’s style is perfect for a movie adaptation of, what is in my opinion, the greatest games of this console, and one of the best games ever. Some times I can’t keep the fanboy in me on the inside, so I apologize in advance when I say, “Good choice Gore, Pirates of the Caribbean sucks (Other than the ride at Disneyland, and the first movie) and Bioshock rulz (Other than Sander Cohen…that dude creeped me out big time)

Other than that details are pretty scarce about what looks like it will be Verbinski’s next flick. Hopefully we’ll hear more in the coming weeks.
