Drew McWeeny over at HitFix.com gave us the scoop this morning that Bradley Cooper would in all likelihood be getting the nod to portray Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. McWeeny is an industry insider and his casting tips are usually solid gold so I would tend to view this as a pretty credible report. Unfortunately I don’t know a damned thing about Bradley Cooper so I can’t even really comment on how suitable he might be to slip on Hal Jordan’s ring. In terms of looks, I guess it’s pretty close, for whatever reason I pictured Hal being a bit older, he seems more the age I would have pictured Kyle Raynor being. At this point I just want to see Green Lantern on the big screen, so if Martin Campbell says he’s Hal Jordan, I’m cool with it. It’s probably also worth mentioning that HitFix was very clear that the Cooper hadn’t been hired yet.

Cooper takes the lead in what critics everywhere are saying is going to be the sleeper hit of the summer The Hangover. So I might not be wondering who he is much longer because no trailer has made me laugh harder than that one in a very long time. So much so, that I’m going to crowbar it in here at the end of my post. Take a peek you won’t be sorry. The scene at the end (with Mike Tyson I might add) kept me chuckling for days.

Feel to chime in on how you feel about Bradley Cooper as Hal Jordan, we’d also love to hear which story arc you’d like to see in the upcoming movie. Personally, anything with the Green Lantern is ok in my books, but please Warner Brothers, whatever story you choose, hire Geoff Johns to write it.
