Last week eatsleepgeek comic editor, Cool Terry did a little look at the music behind the unheralded upcoming PC/Xbox360 title Dark Void. At least, thought the game was unheralded. Turns out that article was one of our most popular pieces that week, and Terry’s look at the game left us all wanting more.
Well, I have more Dark Void for all of us. The game’s official trailer was released today, and the result is spectacular. Giving us glimpses of the back story and the game play, if Dark Void had been a blip on your radar, after this it will in all likelihood be a large beeping dot that pulses at an alarming rate and that won’t go away (and in my case is second in size to only Batman:Arkham Asylum).
Developed by Airtight Games, the folks behind Crimson Skies, Dark Void is an intriguing blend of a third person shooter and an aerial combat. An interesting mix that hasn’t been done before; although probably should have (anybody who played Iron Man last year knows what I’m talking about) Dark Void takes place in an alternate universe that Will, the game’s hero finds himself in after flying through the Bermuda Triangle. The game follows Will as he attempts to liberate human captives, that a hostile alien race known as The Watchers have captured from Earth and enslaved in their world. Whether, fighting The Watchers on foot or in the air, the Unreal Engine keeps the game looking immaculate.
Enjoy the trailer and make sure you are ready to lift off when Dark Void hits shelves later this year on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
