Here we are once again as I bring you another look into my last week of comic book reading . This go round I bring another 4 comics for your consideration and hope my thoughts and feelings are able to help you a little bit with your own comic buying decisions. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way lets get to the goods.
First off we have Battlefields The Tankies #1 of 3. The story takes place in WW2 and follows the path of a tank and her crew as they push their way through the Germans lines. This tale full of blood and cursing (in volume 1 at least and knowing the writer it will definitely continue) was a lot of fun to read (if you like war stories and British accents). You’re probably asking yourself, “who brings us this tale of an inexperienced tank crew and the hard ass of a corporal who now leads them?”. Well it pleases me to no end to inform you that it’s none other then Garth Ennis, the man that brought us Preacher and The Boys (both of which are fucking awesome or should I say fookin’ in keeping with the spirit of this comic) and if you haven’t read either of those comics, stop reading this and go find them now;they are great comics and great examples of his work. Would I buy this again you ask well the answer is yes but then again I love Ennis work.
Next up we have another war story, this time it’s Marvels one-shot Captain America Theater Of War: A Brother in Arms this is a story of one of Captain Americas missions behind enemy lines. More importantly though, the message in this comic is about honor and reminds readers that not all German soldiers were a part of the SS. While this isn’t a new concept to most of us sometimes we forget that, some soldiers were soldiers before the Nazis came to power. I enjoyed this comic even though people like Captain America don’t exist, and I’m not taking about his powers. I’m taking about his sense of honor and fair play something I believe is lacking in the world today. It’s nice for a moment to pretend that people like him exist and that’s what this comic does, it reminds us how the world would be better if there were more people like that.
Third up on the block we have
Sherlock Holmes #1 an interesting tale where our hero (Sherlock Holmes) in an attempt to stop the killing of man in his own home at seven o’clock has turned out to be the killer himself or is he? (sorry I couldn’t help myself I had to write that). If you want to find out if the worlds greatest detective (and I don’t mean Batman) really did do it you just like me have to go out and buy the next issue.
Finally, I come to The Flash Rebirth #2 originally this was going to get it’s own review like the first issue, but I just can’t bring myself to do it if. I was depressed after the first issue (read my other review) then I’m more disappointed now. Why? you ask. Well because the return of Barry Allen is a huge event and so far all we have to show for it is 2 weak comics where the big reveal at the end is that Barry is the new Black Flash (who shows up right before a speedster is about to die and rejoin the speed force) wow!! this is lame, and I hate saying that because I like Geoff Johns as a writer and I’m looking forward to Blackest Night. Howerver, so far I’ve been disappointed with the return of the greatest Flash, the Flash everyone looked up to, and the Flash who defined the hero. This continued cheapening of his death so many years ago with this comic story line is crap. I guess all I can hope for is when Blackest Night hits shelves this ties in somehow and it all makes sense. Then, and only then I will forgive Geoff for what I believe to be his biggest mistake, but we will have to wait and see.
So I bind you a fond farewell comic lovers and hope what ever you are reading brings you joy and happiness as you look forward to next weeks arrival of comic books and the good times they should bring.
![Another Edition of: The Second Best Thing Cool Terry Pulled This Week Reblog this post [with Zemanta]](http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_e.png?x-id=5b7a8e0a-f0c9-46b2-9dee-34c2982add8d)

Who the fuck slipped Terry a Prozac? I want the Cool Terry: Angry Nerd Extraordinaire back pronto. Unless you got laid there’s no excuse for all this kind, joy, peace, and happiness bullshit coming from you. Get bitter you jerkoff!!!
Listen up chuckles you want the Angry Nerd Extraordinaire just wait till Geoff Johns puts out Flash Rebirth #3 and if it sucks as much as the first 2 then I’ll get angry. My rage was put aside because I knew once I finished my post I was going to get to read Allan Moore’s new work The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century: 1910 and I knew that it would be awesome so my rage over the butt fucking that Barry Allen is taking was less severe.
That’s better, I wasn’t really liking that new voice you were using. Tell whoever was editing your work to leave your voice alone, he’s killing all your artistic credibility by drowning out who you really are. What a dick.
