Firstshowing.net has an exclusive with the writers who have been assigned to do the script for the Spiderman spin off Venom. They didn’t have much to say other than how excited and intimidated they are at the prospect of having to write something with such popular subject matter. I can’t help but feel bad for them, it’s really a huge opportunity, but I’m pretty confident that a movie about Venom without Spiderman is going to be a disaster. I wasn’t a fan of Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock, as was the case with most members of the geekosphere (I know, I know… I’m making up words) so there is some love to be had by doing a more true representation of Brock on film. But really, Venom needs Spiderman to work. His vendetta against the web slinger is the real appeal of the character, so if you take Spidey out, I’m not really sure there’s an interesting movie there.
venom New Details About Venom Spin Off Movie Emerge
I guess we’ll have a better idea of how these Marvel spin offs will do on the big screen when Wolverine hits theaters. Unless of course you downloaded it yesterday, in which case you already know how that spin off worked, just don’t tell me. I want to enjoy all the douchery that is Hugh Jackman’s terrible interpretation of one of comic’s most interesting characters without knowing anything. That’s the only real way to get the full effect of how much he made Wolverine suck. I wonder if he does a dance number. Has anyone ever seen him with a girl in his private life??…Ever?

Regardless head over to first showing.net and check out their scoop. Along with all the other awesome movie news there
