There’s gonna be a lot of games showing up on the E3 floor, but right now I wanna talk about the “new” (to us here in the western market) Capcom game Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars for the Wii. This is definitely something I would not expect to ever see grace the Wii scene. The game plays a lot like the other Vs. games Capcom has released over the years  (Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming out for PS3 and 360 in the next couple of months for download). For this new rendition, Capcom teamed up with Tatsunoko, the creators of great anime series like Speed Racer, Gatchaman and TEKKAMAN: The Space Knight (which was one of my personal favorite growing up). The game throws you into the zany world that only Capcom developers could ever think of, a world  full of everything from Serve Bots to classic street scenes . The character set list for the game is out and I’m rather disappointed that there isn’t a whole lot for Streetfighter characters like there were in Marvel vs Capcom but since I don’t work for either company Capcom or Tatsunoko I’ll have to choose from what I’ve been given.

Here is the list of characters and either the game or anime from where they appear:

Capcom:
- Ryu – Streetfighter version
- Chun-Li – Streetfighter 2 version
- Alex – Streetfighter 3
- Morrigan – Darkstalkers
- ABatsu Ichimonji – Rival Schools: United By Fate
- Soki – Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams
- Megaman – Mega Man Legends version
- Roll – Mega Man version
- Viewtiful Joe – Viewtiful Joe
- Yami – Okami
- Saki Omolane – Quiz Nanairo Dreams
- PTX-40A – Lost Planet: Extream Conditions

Tastsunoko:
- Ken the Eagle – Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
- Jun the Swan – Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
- Casshan – Neo-Human Casshern
- Tekkaman – Tekkaman : The Space Knight
- Yatterman – Yatterman
- Donronjo – Yatterman
- Gold Lightan – Golden Warrior Golden Laightan
- Polymar – Hurricane Polymar
- Karas – Karas
- Hakushon Dainao – The Genie Family
- Ippatsuman – Gyakuten! Ippatsuman

Just like older Vs. games, you get to select a team of two characters (minus Tatsunoko’s Gold Lightan and Capcom’s PTX-40A which register as two) which can be swapped out at any time during the battle. Not only is the second character swappable but they are also used in a quick attack. Just like in Marvel vs Capcom, the character in reserve can be called upon to jump/fly/swoop in to try to take a shot to your opposition. As well taking some more pointers to one of the best games they had ever came outwith (MvC2) they kept the simplified controller which include only four buttons for attack, making the game play more simplistic but more flashy all at the same time.

The oddest addition is that of a mini games incorporated they range from Roll cleaning up messes while running down a trench trying to avoid giant clored blocks, Ryu firing fire balls at statues and a weird version of long jump with Tekkaman where you fly on his giant mech/ship while shacking the controllers as hard as you can, this causes you to charge up your throw so when you get to the end you toss your spear weapon into the enemy distorying as many as you can.

The only down side to this game is the music, to me it’s to happy-go-lucky. When I get into a fighting game, I wanna feel like I can take on the world and not feel like I’m surrounded by laughy singing mushrooms that enjoy a good game of tag.

Out of E3 so far this is one of the ones I really wish to play.

Click bellow for some video game play, its so sweet it may give you a toothache.
