Hearing way back that Tekken would be turned into a live action movie I decided to pay it no attention. After watching movies like Mario Brothers, Street Fighter and Double Dragon, I know that most of these translations from small screen to silver screen are horrible at best.  So for a long time I thought nothing of it.  Until now.

Crystal Sky Pictures has just released the trailer for Tekken, and what do I think about it? Well at least they got the characters to actually look as they should unlike Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, where the only character I could even recognize was Vega (Balrog in Japan) and even he was badly done. The fight scenes seem like they could be alright but currently are destroyed by the multiple quick cuts. Importantly the producers are trying to recreate the feeling of the game which I felt was done well in the Mortal Kombat movie, just not the second one.

I am excited that the movie looks as good as it does, but I feel that who ever did the trailer did a really piss poor job at it. Like a sucker to most video game-to-movie translations, you will still see me there, back row with my medium sized drink in my hands.

I wonder if Battle Arena Toshinden will ever be a movie? hummm…..
