ff7 300x225 Final Fantasy VII is Available NOW on PS3 and PSP (In Japan)
Kotaku happened to notice that if you have a Japanese PSN account, that you are now able to download and play Final Fantasy VII on your PS3 or PSP. The price tag? a mere 1500 Yen. That converts to about 15 bucks US, but of course if you have a Japanese PSN account you can probably do that conversion in your head. To me this is small, but significant news. I’m not a huge fan of playing older games on new systems; when I want to play Goldeneye, I pull out my N64, when I want to play Dragonforce, out comes the Sega Saturn. But if there were an old game that I would spend allot of time playing on my PS3 I’d have to say it would be Final Fantasy Seven. Hopefully this is part of an experiment to gauge how much interest the public still has with Cloud and the gang. (Wasn’t Cloud and the Gang a shitty 80’s band?)

So if you have a PSN account in Japan, go spend the 15 bucks, 100 hours, and see if you can unlock the Knights of the Round limit break. If you don’t have the time or the cash, check it out here.

  1. Not to be too big of a final fantasy geek, but Knights of the Round is a summon, not a limit break. Just saying.

Other than that, this is exciting!

  2. Thanks, I got about 1000 emails from guys telling me I was a tool for not knowing that.  I always appreciate somebody who’s willing to say it where everybody else can see it.  You’re a 1/1000 FF geek.
