Anyone up for a free fighting game? Check out Vanguard Princess, a 2D fighter from an ex-Capcom employee, available now for free on your PC. It’s not quite Street Fighter 4; in fact instead of the World Warriors players have come to know so well, you’ll have to familiarize yourself with Sailor Moon-styled Magical girls. In the win column, players are able to choose from a group of ten fighters/magic users, each with different attacks. It might not have gone through the rigorous testing of a Japanese arcade, but it is a free game, so expect to use any discovered bugs against any potential human competitors. Finding a human opponent shouldn’t be a problem if you’re a 14-year old Japanese girl, but will be a challenge for almost literally everyone else. Any typical Anime con attendee should be up to a challenge. The game does look alright, if you’re into doe-eyed characters. But probably won’t match the intensity of a Ryu/Sagat match, or even a Sakura/Dan match, but again, it’s a free game. If I haven’t mentioned already, Vanguard Princess is available for free on your PC, and can be downloaded here. If you’re hesitant, view the gameplay video below.
