New details on the upcoming title featuring everyone’s vigilante suffering from a chilhood trauma. In a press release for the upcoming release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, it is revealed that the PS3 version of the game will include the previously mentioned player Joker Challenge Maps as free downloadable content on the Playstation Network. The playable Joker is currently expected to be a PS3 exclusive. Then again, the future availability of previously Xbox 360-exclusive DLC for Fallout 3 on the PS3 leads to the conclusion that this a timed exclusive. In addition to playable Joker (really, what else do you need?), the PS3 version will include the ‘BATCAVE Outpost Apartment, available to playboy billionaires play around with “experiential items such as The BATSUIT, The BATMOBILE, The BATWING”. If that’s not enough, there’s also some behind-the-scenes videos, including interviews with the development team and scriptwriter/renowned bat-writer Paul Dini, and on-air talent Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the early 90s cartoon series. And if you’re fortunate enough to own a PSP, the digital comic “The Road to Arkham” will be available to PS3 owners as a free download through PSN. If you have a choice of which platform to purchase ‘Arkham’, there is no decision to be made. PS3 owners get all the goodies this round, and 360 owners will have to wait it out, along with the RROD.
