Companies sometimes think when they design a product, they feel that through marketing and stylish design they can create a consumer need that hadn’t previously existed; which is a scary thought.  Apple thought that when they made the iPod and look at it now.  But there are other products that you may never hear about, products that when seen will only make you  sigh, shake your head and wonder who in their right mind has enough money to spend to buy this crap. Until I see any of these products get mad news paper, TV and word of mouth notice, I’ll assume you too consider these pure crap on a stick. Lets take a look at a few shall we.

Think Geek has decided to try to capitalize on the new Star Trek film by releasing a limited edition Star Trek Spork. Thats right you read it correctly a spork, those wonderful conglomerations of both the fork world and the spoon world. This spork is  fully licensed Star Trek merchandise, made out of the strongest metal on earth (Titanium) for those rugged trips to “Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before”.  Each one will be individually numbered  with a laser engraved Star Trek insignia with the Enterprise serial number NCC-1701 on the bottom of the spork.  Soon they’ll need to make a Star Trek Knork (Fork and Knife, maybe the most dangerous combination ever conceived) and a Star Trek Spife (A spoon and knife combination).

From the world of Geek Sugar we have the Mr. P Mobile Eater Cell Phone Stand. Gee, that was a mouth full but so is this guy.  I don’t even want to imagine what was going through someone’s mind with they made this.  Something about a blue ass seems wrong, (but not as wrong as Dr. Manhattan’s giant love stick from Watchmen) and his big gapping mouth screams “I’m willing to eat anything you put in me, ANYTHING!”.  Sorry but this belongs in an S&M club and not as an innocent cell phone holder.

If your one of those people who just hasn’t gotten web cam or is holding off for one that is close to your heart well look no further, USB Brando has the web cam for you.  Coming in two colors we have both a light blue and a light pink USB heart shaped cam.  It supports your average VGA (640×480) with 30 frame/sec. Can either be placed on a desk or mounted to an LCD and to top it all off (in their exact wording) “a touch sensitive LED lights.”

Now this is an interesting idea, although not an entirely new one.  About a year ago we we’re blessed with the Cylon toaster from BSG (Battle Star Galactica if you didn’t know already) which one of our members received as a gift, but due to a slight accident part of the knob melted.  This year we are introduced to a toaster that places a face to one of the most notorious sith leaders ever on your peice of bread, Darth Vader.  Sadly the only way your gonna get that pristine image of the dark lord himself is by burning the bread to an almost un-eatable degree. But if your a must have fan of Star Wars please bow down to his evil high ruler of the sith, Darth Vader.

The integrated PDF Reader Kindle on the DX is also another welcome feature, since many documents in these days there are in PDF format, so it is a breeze to tote around wherever you are.
