We’re winding down now and getting into the last two days of my five-day guide to comic book related Halloween costumes. So far, in part 1, we saw the best male costumes (I got a lot of twitter comments about that one!); in part 2, we saw the best female costumes (which elicited a few chauvinistic comments); and in part 3, I terrorized you with inflatable Captain America and the worst male costumes. So, continuing in that tradition, today brings part 4: the worst female costumes.
Author’s note: considering some of the comments about the other female costumes, I have a feeling that my largely male readership might not have the same problems with some of these costumes that myself and my ladyfriends do.
With that said, let’s begin!
Catwoman Deluxe Adult Costume: The Harley Quinn costume was adorable, Poison Ivy’s was cute and sexy, Catwoman is… that horrible costume from the flopped movie?
-The good: If you have nice boobs, at least part of this costume will go over well.
-The bad: Of all the different looks that Catwoman has had in the comics and in the movies, DC had to choose this incarnation for the Halloween costume?
-The ugly: This costume didn’t look good on the big screen, and it doesn’t look good on you, either. The painted on cat scratches on the legs are hideous, as is pretty much everything else that has to do with this costume.
Elektra Deluxe Adult Costume: Ladies, ever went shopping for a Halloween costume and said to yourself, “I wish I could buy a costume that I can reuse later as a yoga workout outfit?” Your wish has come true!
-The good: This costume doesn’t come with a set of sai, nor are they available, so no one will stab you if you are brave enough to wear this.
-The bad: As said previously, this costume looks like slightly embellished yoga wear. Just cut off the pointless attached boot tops and you’re ready to go!
-The ugly: Not even Ben Affleck would give you a second glance if you showed up to his Halloween party wearing this awful number. Granted, Ben Affleck is a douche, but that’s beside the point.
Veronica Adult Costume: In honor of Archie proposing to Veronica in Archie #600, we have a Veronica Halloween costume for you! Too bad this is another horrible costume.
-The good: Midriff t-shirts are a great way to draw attention away from the fact that you’re flat-chested.
-The bad: If you’re too tall, people might confuse you for Olive Oyle from Popeye.
-The ugly: Nobody will know — or care — what this costume is. It’s more of bad fashion sense than a costume, ladies. If you’re looking for cute and sexy in a costume, this is definitely not the way to go; try one of the costumes I talked about a few days ago instead.
Black Cat Sassy Deluxe Adult Costume: Black Cat; surely one of Marvel’s sexiest ladies. She has an outfit that would be extremely easy to turn into a sleek, sexy Halloween costume, right? Well, apparently not.
-The good: I actually, honestly, like the mask.
-The bad: What the hell is with the silver stitching all over the costume? It looks like they were trying to emulate Selina’s look from Batman Returns. That’s the wrong cat-related girl and you should know that, Marvel!
-The ugly: In my best female costumes article, I showed you how to look like a tasteful lady of the evening by dressing as Emma Frost; well, this costume has nothing tasteful about it at all. Please don’t try to squeeze yourself into this tiny piece of cloth that passes itself off as a costume.
Spider-Girl Sassy Prestige Adult Costume: Spider-Girl… that’s Peter Parker’s daughter, right? Looks like she’s been hanging out with the above-mentioned Black Cat too much.
-The good: If you are a size 2, then this might be the costume for you. You’ll need to buy some fake boobs, though, skinny girls.
-The bad: This outfit is demeaning. The ladies of Marvel are often times very sexy, but they are never (with the obvious exception of Emma Frost) walking around looking like two-bit hookers.
-The ugly: If the only way that you can get guys to notice you is to dress like a trashy female version of a beloved icon, then you might want to rethink a lot of things in your life. There is no, and I mean no, reason that a woman should have to objectify herself to feel good about herself, and that’s all that this costume is about: turning a woman into an object of lust. That said, I’ll step down from my soap box now.
And there we have it! Day four of my Geek Chic Halloween guide. We’ve now seen the best male costumes, the best female costumes, the worst male costumes and the worst female costumes. Stay tuned tomorrow as we wrap things up with an extra-large sized edition of Geek Chic: be a superhero for Halloween! We’ll have honorable mentions, and best masks and accessories, and much more!

Now that spider woman costume is the bomb. hope to see a girl like that this halloween, thats the way a costume should be worn.
Not a fan of Halle Berry catwoman costume!
I’m much happier with something more traditional.
