After the long wait, there’s finally some footage of Gran Turismo PSP. The footage features a less-than-stellar performance as Gran Turismo PSP is put to the test. At least there’s proof that the collision detection is top-notch. There’s nothing particularly ground-breaking in the video; the game runs smoothly and looks on par with the best-looking games on the PSP. The video is also offers a look at the PSP Go in action and it’s shaping up to be a handheld device that could hold its own against the new DSi and iPhone in the struggle for pocket real estate. If the game actually releases along with the PSP Go, it should be one to watch for sim racing fans.
The new footage of the Gran Turismo PSP was fairly standard. Four years of build-up for a portable Gran Turismo on PSP is bound to result in an underwhelming response. While watching the video, I found myself more interested in the footage of the PSP Go in action, and anticipating the potential for some great looking games on the PSP Go. Overall, I’m not that excited about a new Gran Turismo PSP. If there were details about a new Burnout for the PSP, I’d be there in a heartbeat. But I’ll probably check out the game when it comes out, even if it’s just to see why it took four years to finally release the game.
