Well first off I know this news is old; sorry, sorry to those who have already heard this and for those who didn’t well now you know, but you know a month late, so sorry to you too. It would seem that my finger is far from the pulse of the comic world and jammed straight up my ass (and if you don’t get that reference this next bit of news will mean nothing to you).

Now that Dynamite Entertainment has the rights to the Green Hornet comic they have announced that it’s writer will be none other then Kevin Smith (yes I referenced a Kevin Smith movie). This is big news for Smith fans since back in 2004 he had wrote a Green Hornet screenplay that was dropped for the script being used in the upcoming movie. Through the magic of comics though we will now be able to see his story come to life on paper instead. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Smith was quoted as saying

It’s the Hornet movie I’d make if I was making it today…And there’s no better time to do that than before Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry’s version defines the character for the mainstream.

As if this wasn’t enough Dynamite is also telling us that while the interior artist remains a mystery, the cover artists are Alex Ross, John Cassaday, Jae Lee and David Finch.
