This morning MTV Games announced that the upcoming Beatles release from Harmonix would be under the Rock Band brand banner. They also committed to September 9th as the day the game would be available at retailers.

The game will be $59.99 on its own, or alternativly a full edition will ship with limited edition Beatles hardware, modeled after The Beatle’s own instruments.(Man, oh man…I’m bad enough at Rock Band I can’t imagine trying to play the bass left handed) for $249.99. Stand alone Beatles guitars will also be available for $99.99.

In my mind this is fantastic news. When I first heard that the new Beatles game wouldn’t be under the Rock Band banner I was a little worried. It just didn’t make sense to me not to bundle the worlds greatest band with the world’s greatest party game into one. Somebody must have listened to me because come September 9th we’ll all be playing Rock Band:Beatles Edition.
