ghostbusters 3 Ivan Reitman Could be the Right Man to Direct Ghostbusters III

With just a little over a week to go before Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II get a fresh coat of 1080p Blu-Ray wax there is news coming our way about the third film in the series. With the script (which is being penned by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg of The Office) expected to be done within the next month, rumors that the project will jump to the top of Ivan Reitman’s list of things to do are gaining momentum. In a sit down with MTV Movies Blog Reitman was pretty clear that had never ruled out directing the flick, and hopes he is able to tackle it. The other interesting tidbit of info MTV has thrown our way, is that if Dan Aykroyd gets a vote on who should be sitting in the director’s chair should Reitman find himself unable to do so, he’s behind Harold Ramis to assume the directorial duties. In the grand scheme of things though Reitman was adamant that at this stage of the game directing and casting rumors were purely speculative

The movie will deal with the busters we know passing the torch to a new generation of paranormal exterminators. My guess is there will be some babes in the bunch to keep Peter Venkman happy. The movie could begin production as early as this winter.
