Everybody has known for a while now that Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues was going to be making an appearance on consoles sometime in the next 12 months, and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment finally confirmed it last week. What they didn’t let us know then was that TT was also working on another addition to the Lego family of games. Today we found out that Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be gracing our consoles in 2010. The game will be following Harry, Ron, and Hermione through their first four years at Hogwarts. If it’s been so long you can’t remember what each year’s “big adventure” was, year one was The Philosopher’s Stone, year two was The Chamber of Secrets, year three was The Prisoner of Azkaban, and year four was The Goblet of Fire.
I’ve always felt that Harry Potter was the perfect franchise to Legomatize. There’s a great mix of action and puzzle solving, the series is fun for old and young gamers, the fans will appreciate the humor that TT brings to their Lego games, and I can hardly wait to see Haggrid’s giant lego beard. There was no word on which consoles would be participating in the magic plastic block fun in 2010 when the game shows up on store shelves, but I would assume it will be appearing on the usual suspects. This is purely speculation on my part, but with Sony and Microsoft apparently joining the motion sensing wand movement, do you think there’s a chance we could be waving our wands to cast spells? It’s not lightsaber cool, but it’s better than nothing.
Here’s the teaser trailer for Lego Harry Potter:Years 1-4
