Parishoners in a Stockholm church now have an appropriate depiction of the Messiah; a 6-foot tall LEGO statue of Jesus. The 30,000 piece statue was unveiled on Easter Sunday to a capacity crowd of 400 parishoners. The statue took the work of 4o volunteers a total of 18 months to complete, and is a replica of the Christus statue on display in Copenhagen. It is completely comprised of LEGOs donated to the church; and though it has the stone-like outside appearance of white LEGOs,  it is contains a combination of colors on the inside of the statue.

The LEGO Jesus could only be the placed on this Earth to repent for our LEGO sins; it is time that we all repent for our poorly-fashioned LEGO guns (mostly laser guns) and all lesser weapons; we must repent for coveting thy neighbor’s LEGO sets; and of course we must repent for the indulgence and excess of LEGO’s prodigal son, DUPLO. LEGO Jesus was deconstructed for our LEGO sins, and reconstructed on the third day, so that we might be absolved of all LEGO sins. It is our responsibility to  ensure that we revere LEGO Jesus and appreciate the sacrifice made by LEGO Jesue. I’ll leave you with LEGO 3:16: ‘For the makers of LEGO so loved the world that they gave us their only LEGO son.’

  1. Any chance we’ll see Lego:Passion of the Christ on PS3 and XBOX360 before next Easter?

    Sacrilegious

  5. jeffpickens says:

Note the position of the kid’s hand. Looks like the priests trained him well.

  6. Rick says:

I still prefer the apparition of Jesus on a dog’s behind… more of a miracle than this.

  7. Thanks, Rick, that was great.  Everybody go check the link out, although be warned, if Lego Jesus offended you, you might want to pass.

ldymirage, shame on you.  Of all the abominations that have happened on earth because people manipulated the verses of the bible, this is the one you pick to make a stand on?  If you want to spend your time crusading against all the misinterpretations of the bible, go find a worthy cause.

I have left the traditional church environment, and found out what it means to know Christ on His terms.  Check out http://www.thinkredink.com, or on Sat.’s 3pm est check out: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/DonHarris  , he does not pull any punches, and says it like it is.

  9. Wolfmann says:

so ur telling me he likes LEGO, and actually lives by the law of the LEGO god???

  10. Torli Bush says:

I think it’s awesome not as awesome as Jesus Himself is but still awesome, Idymirage is right they shouldn’t distort the Holy Bible like that or in any form that changes its  meaning. and to jeffpickens, dude the kid is just touching the statue thats it…jeez. And chicken bone leave idymirage alone.

  14. Pappy says:

Well Jeff Pickens it seems that you would know more about this than most! Only a pervert would think like that…Maybe you should think twice before you open your sick mouth.

  15. kimsey says:

The first thing is this thing is beautiful, the second thing is some of you people on here are sick. I hope you all go to hell.

  16. Fishbyte says:

Do you think that it is funny that you are making fun of a holy son sent by God  to die exactly for your own personal sin?  It is a beatiful statue depicting a wonderful Savior that gave his all for each one of us.  We are not worthy of what he sacrificed for us, and yet all some people can do is to make fun of him for a cheap laugh.  I wonder if he still feels the pain of the cross each time a immature creep stoops low enough to try and get a pitiful laugh at his expense?  Remember that in the end God will not be mocked……..go ahead and make fun of this comment, I expect it and sadly feel for your soul

  17. tim says:

its an amazing structure built of lego’s people, it is what it is, no need to make anything more out of it. its made from toys to show a likeness of jesus christ, but its not jesus christ, so easy now. as for the moronic comments on both sides get a life, you dont wish anyone go to hell and the perverted comments are weak. grow up!

  18. Thanks for being the voice of reason Tim.  You’re right it is a pretty amazing piece of work.

  19. The Good News is, everyone is talking about Jesus!
    ————————————————————————

Who in the world do you think you are to second-guess God? Do you for one moment suppose any of us knows enough to call God into question? Clay doesn’t talk back to the fingers that mold it, saying, “Why did you shape me like this?” Isn’t it obvious that a potter has a perfect right to shape one lump of clay into a vase for holding flowers and another into a pot for cooking beans? If God needs one style of pottery especially designed to show his angry displeasure and another style carefully crafted to show his glorious goodness, isn’t that all right? Either or both happens to Jews, but it also happens to the other people. Hosea put it well: I’ll call nobodies and make them somebodies; I’ll call the unloved and make them beloved. In the place where they yelled out, “You’re nobody!” they’re calling you “God’s living children.” Isaiah maintained this same emphasis: If each grain of sand on the seashore were numbered and the sum labeled “chosen of God,” They’d be numbers still, not names; salvation comes by personal selection. God doesn’t count us; he calls us by name. Arithmetic is not his focus. Isaiah had looked ahead and spoken the truth: If our powerful God had not provided us a legacy of living children, We would have ended up like ghost towns, like Sodom and Gomorrah. How can we sum this up? All those people who didn’t seem interested in what God was doing actually embraced what God was doing as he straightened out their lives. And Israel, who seemed so interested in reading and talking about what God was doing, missed it. How could they miss it? Because instead of trusting God, they took over. They were absorbed in what they themselves were doing. They were so absorbed in their “God projects” that they didn’t notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into him and went sprawling. Isaiah (again!) gives us the metaphor for pulling this together: Careful! I’ve put a huge stone on the road to Mount Zion, a stone you can’t get around. But the stone is me! If you’re looking for me, you’ll find me on the way, not in the way.

    Romans 9:20 (The Message)

  20. nancy Floyd says:

I thought it was awesome until you ridiculed the Bible with your idiotic “lego”references…..Im sure the volunteers and the 18 months it took to make it didnt appreciate you making fun of God or the Bible verses either……SHAME ON YOU…….from now on just report the news…..I will never come to your sight again

  21. tim says:

EVERYONE, ME THINKS YOU NEED SOME HUMAN COMPANIONSHIP OR THINGS COULD GET SCARY! RELAX AND ENJOY, IF THE LEGO FOLKS OMITED GOD MANY WOULD BE UPSET, SO NOW ITS BAD BECAUSE ITS, WHAT SACRELIGIOUS? C’MON, ITS A LIKENESS OF OUR SAVIOR, DO YOU RIDICULE THOSE THAT MAKE STATUES OR PAINT HIS LIKENESS? I THINK WE NEED THE GOD SQUAD ON THE DOUBLE!

  22. Weatherman says:

First off that is quite an achievement, something not easily done. It took great time and effort; an obvious example of the dedication of those church members. But as to the rest of all this talk about it being sacrilegious, well you folks should remember that: 1. The people that made it did not make it to mock Jesus or make fun of their religion, they made it to show their faith.
    2. Fishbyte, stop acting like you know what God or Jesus feels. While I not be Christian, I am aware enough to know that I have absolutely no understanding of the thoughts or emotions of a being that powerful.
    3. For those of you upset about the distortion of the Holy Bible, realize that the Bible you know has been changed and altered from it’s original version multiple times. And the verses have often been taken out of context by Christians to serve their interests. So don’t start throwing stones, because I am pretty sure there is a verse about that as well.
    4. Everyone talking about Jesus, stop proselytizing. Really, if someone wants to find God, they will go looking for him. You cannot force religion on people or coerce them into it. How can you con someone into truly being faithful? You can’t. Spreading your message is not the same as selling your faith. Learn the difference.
And for reference, I am not a Christian, in fact I have a very low opinion of most of the Christians I have known due to their overall hypocrisy. But recently I have met some good Christian people, and though I still do not believe in Christianity’s particular view of God, I have changed my opinion on the religion because of these good, honest people.

  23. Jorge says:

All of you religious people need to understand what sarcasm is, if you’re fretting about..yes fretting…look it up. If you’re whining about a lego statue of Jesus than you’ve got problems!

  24. Im confused,
If  Lego Mary really was a Lego virgin, and Lego Joseph didnt ever ”lego” her, not even on their Lego honey moon, How was Lego jesus born?
Also, is there a Lego god and Lego Holy Spirit to complete the Lego trinity?
And what about ol Lego Satan? Is his particular brand of Lego evil part of Lego gods Lego master plan? Or was the Lego son of the morning Lego star truly cast down from Lego heaven for his sin of pride?
I would love to hear back from any Lego Theologians on this.
    Lego god bless.
