unbreakable sequel Indefinite Crisis: M. Night Talks Unbreakable Sequel, MaybeAfter all these years (nine and counting), M. Night is still considering the possibility of an Unbreakable sequel. In a recent press event, he expressed interest in the project, although any details were non-existent:

“I don’t know where all the parties are in the world. Sam [Jackson] is like ‘Mr. Comic Book’ now. And Bruce, I don’t know what he’s up to. I don’t know where Disney’s at in their head and what kind of movies they’re up for making. But yeah, I love that movie.”

This isn’t the first time M. Night has openly discussed a sequel to Unbreakable. In a late 2008 conference call, he was indecisive about moving forward with a new Unbreakable project. “I want to write it right now, but I want to write it for the right reasons,” M. Night replied. He also added:

“I want a story to pop into my head that is organic and expressive of who I am. You know, these are all kind of journals of where I am emotionally, so it’s kind of hard. I’m kind of trying to go back to the journal that existed in 1999 for me. But I know me: As soon as I give up on it is when the idea will come to me.”

Despite having failed to see the Sixth Sense, I enjoyed both Signs and Unbreakable. I think M. Night has a lot of interesting stories left to offer to the movie-going public; and if a new Unbreakable movie is in the cards, I’m all for it. With Sam Jackson expressing interest in returning for a sequel, it seems like a no-brainer. But it won’t matter unless M. Night takes the initiative and produces a script, or at least a treatment. Enough of this ‘organic’ storytelling. Just get something down on paper, and get it in the hands of a producer. While your at it, work on a second script to finish off the trilogy as was originally intended. At the same time, I actually think the sequel to Unbreakable is further in development than M. Night is letting on, and there will be confirmed news of an Unbreakable sequel by the end of the year.

An Unbreakable sequel would be great to see!
Unfortunately, given M. Night’s work over the past few years, I’d rather he not make a sequel until he gets himself out of that rut that he seems to be in.

Well, I watched the teaser trailer for the upcoming Last Airbender, and I although I’m not familiar with the source material, I was intrigued. As intrigued as someone who just watched a kid blow out a few candles could be.

Oh man, I hope he does it!  I thought UN-B was highly original and would be WAY interested in either 2 more, or 1 more movie that pits Dunn against Price.  I think mainstream audiences didn’t go for UN-B because they found it “boring” and as a fan of the first 2 X-Men movie’s, I can understand where they’re coming from.  I think just a little more action in a second film would be welcome.  Let David Dunn really expand on his newfound “powers” to fight various battles (not overly comic-booky battles, more like the battle aginst the Orange Man in UN-B), all the while showing us glimpses of Mr. Glass’s progression into whatever he becomes for the 3rd movie, where Dunn vs Glass is the main battle.  I hope he does it, before Bruce gets too old.

  4. i dont know if that is really true
