mad world Madworld: Wii, A ReviewAfter spending several long play sessions with Madworld, I can safely say that this is the type of game I’ve been waiting for on Nintendo’s unfortunately named console. It’s a classic beat-em-up style game with intuitive and fun motion controls. With a series of simple gestures you can inflict unspeakable acts of horrific violence on your fellow man. All narrated by the foul mouthed Greg Proops and Jon Di Maggio. Needless to say this game earns it’s mature rating.

Playing this game forced me to contemplate a contentious issue: the lack of fun, mature rated games for the Wii. Sure, the first-party stuff is fun but it’s fun in a family friendly sort of way. I’m talking about blood-splattering, spine-twisting, ramming a sign post into a mother fuckers HEAD kind of fun here. It gives me hope for the future of the system. This review is a short one because if you enjoy games that have old school charm and the trappings of a modern M ESRB rating: Madworld is fun. Full stop. This AND House of the Dead: Overkill, AND GTA: Chinatown Wars in the same month, let alone the same quarter? Careful Nintendo, you might lose some of the more sensitive grandmothers out there.
