Another glorious week for comics, I think! Comics are seeping into our lives and our culture a little bit every day. Some people I’ve talked to don’t even realize how influenced by comics the TV show Heroes really is, for instance. And still other people I’ve met have started reading comics after watching blockbuster movies like The Dark Knight and Iron Man. Still, for those of us geeks who have been in it for the long-haul, comics are something that we love, something that no one can take away from us; no matter how many times I swear at a writer for doing something I don’t like to one of my beloved characters of utter a curse upon an artist that I think has done a series an injustice, I will always find something I like to read — and I can always wait out the parts I don’t like and return again later when a new writer or a new artist appears to re-imagine the characters I love and breathe new life into them. With that said, let’s see what’s on the pull list for this week!
1. Amazing Spider-Man #611 – Deadpool-Man, Deadpool-Man, does whatever a Deadpool can! I’m not an amazing fan of Spider-Man ever since One More Day/Brand New Day, but I do love the Merc with a Mouth, and that’s more than enough to bring me back to the realm of Spidey. I’m pretty excited to see what on earth could possibly force Pete to team up with good ol’ Deadpool.
2. Dark X-Men #1 - Not really following Dark Reign too much right now (waiting for it to be over with so I can pick up TPBs and just read through it; yes, I’m still pissed off at BMD and JQ for the treatment of Iron Man in Secret Invasion), but this looks like it has the potential to be pretty awesome. I mean, come on! Mystique, Mimic, Weapon Omega, and Dark Beast? Sounds like a pretty badass group to me!
3. Green Arrow/Black Canary #26 – Ever since last month, I’ve been waiting for this next issue of GA/BC. There are TWO Green Arrows?! Which one is the real one — and is he with Black Canary or Cupid?! I really would like some answers, and I bet Dinah would, too!
4. Realm Of Kings: Imperial Guard #1 – Gladiator is the emperor of the Shi’Ar and the Imperial Guard are the makers and keepers of the law. A dangerous mission just might be the solution that everyone’s been praying for, but are the Guard, opinionated and fractured, strong enough to unite together to accomplish this task? With Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Kev Walker working together, this is bound to be a fantastic series!
5. Tracker #1 - This new comic from Image Comics and Dreamwave Productions looks like it has a lot of potential. The FBI’s top tracker, Alex O’Roark, has his life torn to pieces when a case to track down the world’s most notorious serial killer brings him face to face with a werewolf. Now Alex must hunt down the wolf that infected him before he turns into a monster — all while keeping this dark secret from both his gorgeous fiance and the FBI!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for this week, and I’m looking forward to every bit of it! There are a ton of great comics coming out this week, and there’s sure to be something for everyone — and if not, well, there’s always next week!

RoK’s Imperial Guard was awesome it had the feel of the first scene of a summer blockbuster movie. So sweet…
You should also suck it up about Iron Man. Yeah it sucks that he took the lions share of the blame for the Skrull invasion, and it’s even worse that as penance he’s retarded now, but time to move on. Tony Stark (the old Tony Stark who was smart) would want it that way.
Love the picks, keep them coming.
