Asylum of HorrorHere we are; a week closer to Halloween. Last week’s comics were pretty good. Did you enjoy them? What about this week? What’s going on that you’re excited about. It seems like when there’s too many comics for me to choose from that it becomes far too difficult for me to narrow down my top five, I like to choose a theme. Last week it was paperback and hardcover trades. This week? Well, I know that Halloween is still a few weeks away, but it’s definitely one of my favorite holidays. So, what makes a good comic to get a person into the Halloween mood? Well, zombies and vampires are a given. Scary and spooky things are also pretty good; and, well, you can’t go wrong with anything that has “Halloween” in the title. Let’s see what’s coming out this week that will get us all in the mood for a good fright!

1. 28 Days Later #3 – A great movie turned comic, 28 Days Later is definitely the type of comic one would want to read to get into a spooky mood. Selina continues to show her team what it takes to survive in the UK after the infection has spread — and if you’re infected, you’re in big trouble because Selena won’t spare you any mercy!

2. Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Guilty Pleasures HC – Anita Blake is a lot of things. She’s smart, she’s sexy, and she’s dangerous — especially if you have fangs. An animator of the dead, a hunter of criminal vampries and a police consultant on the bizarre, Anita becomes the center of attention for the vampire masters of St. Louis and risks revealing the source of her unusual strength and power in this hard cover collection.

3. Asylum Of Horrors #2 – A collection of chilling and frightening stories for the discerning horror fan, this promises to be an excellent issue to get you into the spooky Halloween mood. Featuring five different tales of terror, Asylum of Horrors is surely not to be read alone after dark!

4. Clive Barkers Seduth 3-D #1 – When Clive Barker writes a terrifying tale of terror, how can anyone refuse to read it? Harold Engle never expects that such a beautiful, priceless diamond could contain such a terrible plague within the small cloud of darkness at its very core. Follow horror master Clive Barker’s chilling tale in 3-D as Engle embarks on a surreal journey and make a terrible choice: will he unravel the very fabric of the world, or save it?

5. Marvel Zombies 04 HC – Last, but not least, we have more zombies. Marvel brings us their fourth volume of zombie mayhem and madness. A vampire, a witch, a werewolf, a muck-monster and the devil are all that stand between a cruise ship filled with undead flesh-eaters and an unstoppable apocalypse! Enjoy the story in its entirety with this hard cover collection.
