After setting the internet ablaze a few months ago when he let slip that Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Johnny Depp would be playing The Penguin and The Riddler respectively in the third installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series Michael Caine set the record straight with MTV Splashpage. Caine had this to say about the prospect of Johnny Depp being Batman 3’s villain “Johnny Depp is great in anything, but there is no Johnny Depp in this Batman,” he smiled. “They tell me in no uncertain terms.” He also suggested that since Inception is going to be such a big deal there’s no way we’ll see Batman before 2011.

Personally I’d rather see Larry David as the Riddler, Artie Lange as The Penguin,Zachary Quinto as Sylar, and Emanuel Lewis as Robin. Now that would be a worthy followup to The Dark Knight. Not to mention, if I were writing the script Bryan Singer and Geoff Johns would be making cameo appearances as Superman and The Green Lantern.
