mirrors edge Mirrors Edge Sequel In the Cards
Last year’s FPP (first person parkour) game Mirror’s Edge might not have set the world on fire, it had moments of insane frustration, it gave more than a few people motion sickness, and it was shorter than it should have been. All its flaws considered though it was refreshing to see a different kind of game, and it did have some pretty high replay value. If you enjoyed all of the running, jumping, sliding, and disarming action Mirrors Edge gave you, then there’s good news, a sequel is on the horizon, and it will include multiplayer mode.

Apparently the series, which was originally planned as a trilogy, did pretty well in Europe which makes sense; I hear running and jumping from rooftop to rooftop is much more common on that side of the pond. At any rate EA Games Europe SR Vice President Patrick Soderlund had this to say about the game

Mirror’s Edge was a risky move. It was a bold move, a very innovative and inspiring move. The game wasn’t perfect by any means. We would have liked the game to sell better even though the game has sold better than most people think. You will see another Mirror’s Edge for sure. It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I’m excited about what we do.

So while I wouldn’t expect to see it on shelves in time for Christmas if you’re a fan of the first game looks like you’re in luck because it appears that at some point down the road you’ll running around on the rooftops with your online friends.
