Internet rumors are running as wild as Hulkamania did in 1986 and they’re all saying the same thing. They’re screaming at us “Well you know Mean Gene…Sam Raimi wants Morbius to be the villain in Spiderman 4 bruther”. I guess that’s not exactly what they’re saying, but it’s so rare in this day and age that you get to give a shout out to Hulk Hogan that you have to crowbar them in when you can. All joking aside, in an exclusive interview with fearNET Raimi sure acted like he was interested in that scenario playing out. Raimi went on to explain how great vampires are; he sounded like a 14 year old girl who had just seen Twilight. In case you hadn’t figured it out, I’m not a huge fan of Sam’s after Spiderman 3. I think he killed the franchise a la Joel Schumacher’s visionary take on Batman.

Despite my objections though it looks like Sam will be trying to win comic fans over again when Spiderman 4 hits theaters in 2011. In his defense, at least Raimi made 2 good Spidey flicks. The closest Schumacher ever came to making a good Batman movie was when he made the trek to the theater to watch Batman Begins.
