Super Mario is usually credited with the quote “In July there is nothing certain but an NCAA game and no big releases.” While players, especially fight fans, can expect some great titles next week (Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, King of Fighters XII), it’s more of an exception to the rule. And this week is a prime example of the July phenomena. The games release list this week is headlined by Wii Sports Resort, Nintendo’s follow-up to Wii pack-in title Wii Sports. Wii Sports Resort has received some decent reviews, and what’s not to like about Swordplay? The only other real noteworthy title is Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience for the PS3. This package includes the Director’s Cut of Watchmen and the two chapters of The End is Nigh game originally available as downloadable content. The 360 release of The End is Nigh only features the two chapters at a lower price point. As for the rest of the releases, the G-Force rolls out in full force, taking on all the major platforms quickly and efficiently. As trained covert agents, who also happen to be Guinea pigs, it’s movie franchise SOP. And to round out this week’s titles, Science Papa (Cooking Mama’s Sugar Daddy) sets up his workshop on both the Wii and DS, in a possible attempt to bring logic and reasoning to foam-mouthed Nintendo fan boys.
