Save the recording industry….save the world. In an official press release La La Land records announced that this Tuesday they will have the official soundtrack to NBC’s hit show Heroes available for download. The album will be in music stores everywhere starting April 21st. The big news to me here though is that there are still music stores that sell cd’s. I was pretty sure that the only music stores still in business were ones hawking vinyl. I guess you learn something new every day. In addition to the show’s theme song the album will feature ten tracks specifically built around the shows most popular characters. If that doesn’t sound like enough of a party in and of itself, the last two tracks, Kirby Plaza and Fire and Regeneration will evoke memories of two of the most popular themes in the show. Kirby Plaza takes us back to the climactic conclusion of season one, where Peter and Nathan Petrelli save New York from it’s impending destruction. The “Fire and Regeneration” track is another little diddy that fans will be familiar with as it is the show’s “Claire Bennett” theme. I know every time I hear it I’m over come with an undying urge to cut my arm off and hope it grows back. Both tracks feature the voice of Shenkar, I’m not certain of this but I believe that Shenkar served as the inspiration for the title character in Mike Meyer’s blockbuster comedy The Love Guru. No matter how you slice and dice it, I have a feeling that this release could be the album that gets the recording industry back on the map. In many circles inside the music industry it is already being refered to “The ipod Killer”. If you want to pre-order you can do so on the La La Land Records website.
