Said Schwartzenegger: “I signed this important measure to ensure parents are involved in determining which video games are appropriate for their children [...] By prohibiting the sale of violent video games to children under the age of 18 and requiring these games to be clearly labeled, this law would allow parents to make better informed decisions for their kids.”

The original law was blocked by the video game industry in 2005, and this time around, Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the Entertainment Software Association, has deemed the law a “a complete waste of the state’s time and resources” and that the rating system used on video games currently is sufficient enough for parents to monitor their children’s access to ‘inappropriate’ gaming.

If the law passes, it will rate games based on “the range of options available to a player includes killing, maiming, dismembering or sexually assaulting an image of a human being.” Under this law, the games Puppy Kicker and Mama Cooks Kittens will still be available for the ten-and-up crowds.

Mama Cooks Kittens is a fun and innovative game. Got a chance to play it for the Wii at a videogame convention. They only gave you the chanse to catch, skin and chop a Calco. Apparently there will be features where you can go online and download actual recipes from amateur cat cookers.

Rumours are the Puppy Kicker game will soon have a sequel too, have you tried it? I think you might enjoy it if you had fun with Mama Cooks Kittens.  I think they’ve improved the sound effects and now you can choose from 24 different breeds. My favourite is still the Chihuahua though :)
