Seth McFarlane Confirms Family Guy Movie is In the Cards

In a recent chat with Wired Magazine, ( magazines still exist?) to commemorate the 100th episode of Family Guy hitting the air waves, the show’s creator Seth McFarlane confirmed that plans for the Griffin family’s big screen debut are well on their way to being worked out; pehaps even as we speak… McFarlane had this to say about the inevitablity of a Family Guy movie:
We want to do it. Fox wants it. We know what we want to do with it. It’s just a question of finding the time. That’s why The Simpsons took so many years to do theirs. They just couldn’t fit it into the schedule.
While it’s not exactly going to hit next summer, I think it’s pretty safe to assume we’ll be seeing it sometime soon. As a huge fan of the series, I loved both Blue Harvest and Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, the direct to DVD movies that came out and can hardly wait to see what the theater holds in store for Peter, Stewie, Brian, and the rest of the cast. I just hope it’s better than The Simpson’s movie; in fact I’m pretty sure it can’t be any worse. Here’s to hoping that the Matt Parker and Trey Stone vs. Seth McFarlane feud dosn’t end in bloodshed before this gets in our greedy little hands. Before you call me crazy…don’t forget that Parker and Stone went to school at Columbine.
