Just in case anybody forgot, tonight is the season premier of The Spectacular Spiderman. Tonight serves up back to back episodes with Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter. It’s pretty easy to dismiss this show as a kids cartoon (I’m looking at you Cool Terry), but you’re making a mistake if you do. Last season kicked off with a double shot of Venom in the first two episodes and followed it up with The Sinister Six, and the ties to the character’s comic book counterparts were very strong and well done. The thing that hooked me on the show was the character development, these are not cartoon caricatures of the Spider-verse, but rather, well thought out and developed interpretations of Spiderman and his friends and foes . Each episode builds on the next in terms of character development, and there’s not much doubt that while the show is geared at kids, if you’re a fan of the Spiderman comic you’ll enjoy it as well. I give the show my seal of approval (keep in mind that I read Mice Templar though) and recommend that you check it out. Here is a link to the preview of tonight’s episodes and a teaser of the series.
