public enemies dvd cover

Everybody here at eatsleepgeek.com, even Paul the guy who hates comic books, was pretty impressed with DC’s latest direct to DVD animated feature Green Lantern: First Flight. In fact, with the exception of a few hold outs over Gotham Knight I’d say we pretty much all totally think the entire series has been awesome. The next one in the series is Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and is based on Jeph Leob’s Public Enemies arc in the Superman/Batman comic. If you’ve read my recent preview of Ultimate Comic’s Spiderman #1you know I’m not a huge fan of the Ultimatum story Loeb quarterbacked recently. However, that hasn’t made me forget how awesome Public Enemies was. The DVD is in stores Sept.29th, and I’m predicting it will be the best one yet. At the very least it will give The New Frontier a run for it’s money.

Another interesting bit of news associated with the dvd is that apparently the box cover offers up some spoilers on what the next entry into the series will be. According to the box (you can check the pic out for yourself) the follow up entry in this stellar series is going to be called Crisis on 2 Earths. That’s odd, usually any time crisis is mentioned in DC it usually coincides with an infinite number of earths. I don’t know how they think that they can go from infinite earths to 2 in one fell swoop. Maybe Crisis on Many Earths, or Crisis on Multiple Earths, even Crisis on More than One Earth, but two? C’mon DC you can do better than that. My money is on the second earth being the Kingdom Come earth; actually now that I think of it, an animated adaptation of Kingdom Come would be way better than Crisis on Infinite Earths. Why don’t they talk to me before they make important decisions like this. At any rate check out this close up of the box and see for yourself.

  1. Memyself says:

    From the 60’s to the mid 80’s, title like “Crisis on Earth 2″ were the norm. “Infinite” wasn’t added until 85 or so.

  2. I’d be more stoked for Crisis on Earth 2 than Crisis on 2 Earths
