You may remember Tim Roth from such classic films as Rob Roy, Reservoir Dogs, or Pulp Fiction. Or you might have seen him tearing it up in last summer’s redux of The Hulk. I think it’s awesome the way the world is willing to pretend that Eric Bana, Jennifer Connelly, and Ang Lee never happend, like how the citizens of Springfield did with the real Seymore Skinner. That aside though, it appears that Tim Roth who was the bad guy in the good movie has dropped a bit of info regarding what Marvel Studios has in store for fans. While promoting his TV show Lie to Me (a personal favorite of esg.com’s very own comic critic extraordinaire Cool Terry) Roth mentioned that he has agreed to appear in three more movies from Marvel Studios. When asked if Marvel had indicated that they wanted to use him in of their upcoming movies Roth had this to say.
They have, but in a very different way, I don’t want to get into it, but they signed me up for three [films].
Interesting indeed. A sequel to The Hulk would make one, that I can see; Abomination is a natural nemesis for Hulk and I believe they have a lot more mileage left there. With an upcoming Avengers movie I suppose that would be a logical 2nd movie to have Abomination in it. What about third? Hulk3, a cameo in Thor, Captain America? Who knows, maybe Marvel’s got a card up their sleeve that none of us have considered. Either way Tim Roth is a pretty underrated actor in my books and his involvement in the ongoing creation of the Marvel film universe is a good thing.
