Top 5 Wolverine Villians from Hollywood.com
I’m sure most of you have seen X-Men Origins: Wolverine despite my best efforts to sway you away from one of the most horribly comic-to-screen adaptations ever (This decade, the Captain America movie from the 70’s was even worse, probably the worst ever). Never being a fan of Wolverine at all I do know quite about the character, and he did have a very very interesting past. In anticipation of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hollywood.com asked over 500 fans (which I wasn’t one of them surprise surprise) Who was the best villain? Well the numbers are in and the top five are:

# 5) The Blob. Ranking on the bottom was The Blob with 6% of the votes. His powers : Gravitational Mass allocation, which allows the Blob to become practically immovable as long as he is in contact with the ground, and Superhuman Durability, in which The Blob’s body possesses a high degree of resistance to injury. His skin cannot be broken by most known materials, get frost bite, or even get H1N1 Influenza A or any disease for the matter.

# 4) Deathstrike. Coming in fourth with a whole %12, Lady Deathstrike gained her powers by getting her body cybernetically enhanced with Adamantium to helped battle Wolverine so she can study his body. The bad blood between her and Wolverine all started when Lady Deathstrike took issue with Logan’s virtually indestructable skeleton. Feeling that the Adamantium bonding process was stolen from her father, has put the chip on this cyborg vixen’s Adamantium shoulder and made her one of Wolverine’s mortal enemies. She possesses: Superhuman Strength,Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Stamina,Superhuman Agility, Superhuman Reflexes and a Cybernetic Healing Factor.

# 3) Mystique. Number 3 on Hollywood.com’s list is Mystique %17. Throughout history she had worked with Professor Xavier as a partner but in more often then not she went against him and the rest of his X-Men, leaving her more villain than hero. Her powers consist of: Meta-morph, which, in english (instead of geek)means she can psionically alter her cells at will allowing her to look and sound like anyone she wishes. She can even change her height to match those who are taller than her but she suffers mental strain if she stays in a form for too long.

# 2) Magneto: Given his Adamantium skeleton Magneto is certainly one of the adversaries Wolverine is most vulnerable to, Magneto ranks at number 2 with %23 of the votes. If you have no idea on what his powers include well then you must be living under a rock but I’ll go over a few. Magnetic Field Manipulation which allows him to create Magnetic Force-Fields,Magnetic Flight, and Electromagnetic Sight. Due to his extreme control over all things metallic and magnetic he can also control: Metallic Bonding, atomically bond metallic substances to any designated surface material such as earth, air and water. Organic Iron Manipulation, able to control the iron within organic matter such as a human.

# 1) Sabretooth. Well look at who we have here at number one, Wolverine’s old pal from the Weapon X project. With %42 of the vote he tops the charts. Having one of the longest standing feuds with Wolverine, and having animalistic abilities and tendencies similar to Wolverine’s, rumors have always circulated that Logan and Victor Creed were related. Real comic fans know though that he has NOTHING to do with Wolverine in terms of a blood relation. Sabretooth has most of the same mutant powers as Wolverine has: Regenerative Healing Factor,Superhuman Strength, Extended Longevity, Superhuman Acute Senses. But un-like Wolverine, he never got the Adamantium bonding process Sadly in the Marvel world of Earth 616, Sabretooth no longer is alive, leaving Wolverine victorious, allowing him to heal a past that Sabretooth helped destroy.
I hope you were all fascinated with the top five villains of Wolverine. And to those diehard fans, I know there is so much more info I could have put down and a whole history of how they all connect, but it would cause carpel tunnel syndrome in my hands and that wouldn’t be good for any body, including me.
