Transformers 3 Not Going to Happen?
Just a bit of news here that for the most part has gone completely unnoticed (which might also mean that it’s complete and utter bullshit, but what the hell, it’s not like nobody’s never read bullshit before.), but according to femalefirst.co.uk (man am I going to lose street cred for linking to them) Michael Bay is pretty uninterested in directing a third Transformers movie unless he gets a long holiday before hand. I guess there are all sorts of reasons he might say things of this nature, but I hope it turns out not to be true.
Two summers ago when I went to the theater to check Transformers out on the big screen, my expectations couldn’t have been any lower, I hadn’t even bought my tickets yet and I was depressed. I just knew that no matter what, there was no way this flick could live up to my memories of any of the cartoons that had been done under The Transformers banner. In allot of ways I’m surprised I even went; although I must admit, heckling the nerds (like we should be talking) with Scott was fun. Regardless, of my expectations, I walked out that day with a renewed sense of faith that Hollywood could do right by the cartoons that made my childhood fun. So much so that I haven’t even taken a shit on GI Joe: Rise of Cobra…yet.
So if Michael Bay isn’t doing Transformers 3, then this nerd doesn’t want there to be a Transformers 3, unless of course Transformers 2 sucks ass, in which case, to hell with Michael Bay, lets get this franchise rolling again Autobots.
