Looks like those crazy Canadians are at it again.  The celebrity chairman of Team Fox (click the link, Team Fox is a worthy cause that’s worth learning about), happens to be non other than Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool in the upcoming X-Men Origins:Wolverine.  So, after raising over $100,000 through fundraising efforts centered around running the NYC Marathon last November, Reynolds is extending his efforts to the premier of Wolverine next week.  Reynolds listed the following auction on charitybuzz.com and the lucky winner and a guest will attend the premiere of Hollywoods latest superhero blockbuster at Mann’s Chinese Theater with Reynolds.

Team Fox is the grassroots effort of the Michael J Fox Foundation, it helps provide regular people (and apparently superheroes as well) with the guidance and resources make a difference in the battle against Parkinson’s Disease. Since the group’s inception 3 years ago the members of Team Fox have raised over 5 Million dollars for the cause.

Ryan Reynolds had the following to say about his work with the group:

“I am proud to be a part of this team of dedicated and motivated people who are getting out there and making a difference, The Michael J. Fox Foundation is doing whatever it takes to improve patients’ quality of life and deliver a cure to people living with PD, like my father.”

I know, I know, I’ve been pretty critical of Reynolds playing Deadpool; not because he’s a poor choice, but because his good looks will steer the character in a direction that’s inconsistent with the Wade Wilson I know and love. Despite all that though, I think he nail the character; I just don’t think we’ll see the character become what he should. Regardless of all that though, this is a pretty solid move by Ryan Reynolds, and I hope his auction does well. Currently the winning bid was at $3000, with a little less than 2 days left to go.
