In case this juicy tidbit slipped past you during the nerd news tsunami of San Diego Comic Con I thought I would bring to your attention the fact that Max Brooks has agreed to do a 5 issue GI Joe mini series next year. IDW announced that the New York Times best selling author of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War and The Zombie Survival Guide would be teaming up with them to bring fans his take on GI Joe some time next year. In case you’re a stickler for bio info Brooks also wrote for Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2003, but his zombie books were so good we won’t hold the SNL stint against him.
Everybody here at eatsleepgeek.com loves GI Joe (those of us who saw the movie this weekend were pleasantly surprised), and our love of GI Joe pales in comparison to how we feel about Max Brook’s zombie novels, so we’re guessing that Brooks writing GI Joe can’t miss. The series will be Brook’s first work with IDW, but not his first comic. This October Random House will be publishing The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks.
Brooks also added that he was finishing up his work on Different Strokes 2.5, which pissed me off to no end. I can’t believe I missed Different Strokes 2…
